Malmö inner N 55 37, O 13 00

The Malmö inner harbor lighthouse at the W entrance to the inner harbor, Malmö, Öresund. Manned 1822-1936. Already in 1822, the city of Malmö had a 14 m high wooden harbor lighthouse built. In 1878, the lighthouse (Malmö inner) was replaced by an approximately 20 m high octagonal tower in iron, designed by Axel and Hjalmar Kumlien, standing on an octagonal plinth of granite and yellow refractory brick, with lantern containing lamp and 4th order lens. The lighthouse was extinguished in 1983 and is no longer part of the harbor's lighthouse lighting. Since then, the lighthouse has a "light beam" from a simple light bulb aimed at the city. All previous lighthouse equipment has been removed. The lighthouse is owned by the city of Malmö, which also owns the Malmö outer lighthouse.
